No matter how many times we visit Naples Botanical Garden, we always feel pretty lucky to be there. In just one morning, you can feel transported to Bali in the Asian Garden, play a game of bocce on the Caribbean Lawn, meander through an art exhibit, or catch a glimpse of otters, eagles and other wildlife on a hike through the Preserve.

While the rest of Naples tends to quiet down in the summer, there’s still plenty to do at the Garden! Here are four reasons to visit Naples Botanical Garden this summer.

1. Nature-Inspired Art and Local Musical Acts

The coolest (read: air-conditioned) place to be in the Garden this summer is Kapnick Hall. Beat the heat as you get carried away by currents of gnarled trunks and roots and repeating patches of honeycombs in this special indoor exhibition, Natural Oasis: The Art of Mally Khorasantchi. What’s more, from noon to 2 p.m. every first and third Sunday through August, you can take in these large-format tropical paintings to the sounds of musical stylings of local artists.

2. Tastes of Fogg Café

What could be better than savoring brunch and lunch delights among the beautiful surroundings of the Garden? Enjoy your seasonal favorites at Fogg Café through May 31, then look forward to a bevy of Garden-inspired dishes and crisp morning mimosas every Friday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., June 1 through September 2.

3. Themed Daily Tours

Meandering through the Garden at your leisure is just one way to enjoy the beauty found in this 170-acre tropical paradise. Included with admission is the opportunity to immerse yourself in the Garden in a whole new way with a themed daily tour. Their knowledgeable, friendly staff and docents lead these tours, starting at 11 a.m. every day. No reservations are required, but tours are first come, first served, with up to 15 people permitted per tour, so you may want to arrive early!

4. Ample Opportunity to Learn

There’s a chance to W.O.N.D.E.R.—Walk, Observe, Navigate, Draw, Explore and Read—as a family every day in the Garden starting at 10:30 a.m. Imagine and create with lessons and activities centered around a monthly theme.

Visit at 11:30 a.m. or 1 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for Dig Deeper, when you can catch a glimpse of what Garden staff members do and how they do it. Absorb all there is to know about air plants, take a crash course in herbs, and learn about the Garden’s research and conservation work in the process.
