Maybe it’s weird to be excited about a new grocery store, but I AM EXCITED ABOUT A NEW GROCERY STORE. Sprouts Farmers Market is coming to Naples (2224 Logan Blvd. N.) on Feb. 20, and in case you’ve never visited one, here’s the scoop: It’s a healthy grocery store offering fresh, natural and organic foods at prices that aren’t ridiculous.
They have fresh produce, meat and seafood, vitamins, baked goods, frozen foods, packaged groceries, natural household items and pretty much anything else you can get at a typical grocery store. The difference? 90 percent of products at Sprouts are natural or organic. So you don’t have to spend forever comparing labels—just know they’re pretty much all good options. And if you’re on a specific diet, Sprouts stocks approximately 4,000 gluten-free, 3,000 organic, 3,000 non-GMO and 500 raw items.
I’ve been on a juicing kick lately (thank you, New Year’s resolution), so I go through produce pretty quickly these days. (My current favorite combo: green apple, grapefruit, celery, ginger, spinach and kale). Sprouts is best-known for its produce selection at its other stores (they have 310 of them coast to coast), and their produce prices are, on average, 20 to 25 percent below traditional supermarkets.
They also have a Market Corner Deli in store with prepared entrees and sides, a salad bar, soup, fresh sushi and juice. You can also get made-to-order sandwiches starting at $3.99. See? Prices = not ridiculous.
If you’re also excited to try the new Sprouts Farmers Market in Naples, it gets better: Enter to win a $500 Sprouts gift card (and join me in the produce section on Feb. 20—I’ll be the one hoarding all the grapefruit).
