If I had my way (and unlimited funds), I’d have a never-ending supply of fresh flowers in every room of my house. I love how they make a space look refreshed and cheerful—without a whole lot of effort.
I was at Trader Joe’s this weekend and came across these adorable mini blooms for just $1.99—daffodils and hyacinth in all different colors—as well as hydrangeas and tulips in a rainbow of colors. If you go during the right time of year—usually early spring—you can even find peonies for around $1 per stem—a bargain if you’re used to buying them from a florist!
Fresh Market and Whole Foods are my other go-to spots for fresh, great-looking blooms with strong lasting power. Gene’s Fifth Avenue Florist and Driftwood Garden Center have good selections, as well, and as a bonus, if you’re looking for a particular type of flower (like calla lilies—one of my favorites!), they can usually order them for you with a few days’ notice.
And! If you need a little help arranging them just so, Whole Foods offers The Full Bloom, a floral arranging class led by their resident florist on the first Friday of the month from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The class is just $14.99 per person—a small price to pay to create your own Pinterest-worthy blooms!
