One of the best things about Naples is that you’re never far from the beach. It’s such a luxury to be able to hop in the car, drive a few minutes and have lunch with an amazing view.

Edgewater Beach Hotel is one of my favorite hidden gems—read more about our staycation there this summer—because, even though it’s been quietly tucked away on Gulf Shore Boulevard North for more than 30 years, it’s never too crowded to get a table on the shaded patio of Coast with views of the pools, palm trees and the Gulf. You don’t have to be a guest of the hotel to dine there, either; it’s open to the public and perfect for parties from two to 10.

Recently, we stopped by for lunch and ordered off of Coast’s regular lunch menu, which is served from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Some of the dishes we chose—the Ahi Tuna Wrap and Grilled Salmon with quinoa, roasted feta and baby bok choy—are also on their Be Well menu, which offers healthier options as part of the resort’s Blue Zones Project partnership. We also couldn’t resist the housemade Conch Fritters with Key lime aioli and Chips & Dip with spicy guacamole; and the Edge Salad with watermelon, arugula, gorgonzola, grilled shrimp and white balsamic dressing is perfect paired with a glass of crisp white wine.

For business or social meetings, groups or special events, Coast also offers three-course prix fixe menus that are entirely customizable and offer a choice of soup of salad, choice of three entrees and a choice of dessert. I’m looking forward to hosting a future TNN Book Club meeting there, and it would also be perfect for holiday gatherings! (Who wouldn’t want to have lunch on the beach in the fall or winter?)
