Planning your weekend to-do list? Add brunching at Café Lurcat in downtown Naples to the top of it. The longtime Fifth Avenue South favorite recently began offering a chef-driven, family-style brunch with customized bloody mary cocktails on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for $24.95 per person.

Jesse’s build-your-own bloody mary concoction: baby corn, Gibson onions, pickled asparagus and blue cheese olives

The menu varies slightly weekly, but because it’s served family style, everyone can try a bit of everything on the menu—which means no bruncher’s remorse when your friend’s choice comes out looking better than yours. (We’ve all been there.)

Get creative, bloody mary fans: You can build your own for $10 and garnish to your heart’s content. Options include pickled asparagus, queen olives, blue cheese olives, grape tomato, baby corn, celery, aged cheddar and Gibson onion. Jesse upgraded his with a three-shrimp skewer for an additional $4. “A little protein with your breakfast drink!” he enthused.

NGL: Having course after course delivered to your table feels kinda fancy. We started with salted caramel sticky buns with vanilla bean frosting. Next was the smoked salmon riled with garden herb cream cheese and bagel crisps (my favorite!), followed by farm egg Benedict on a buttermilk biscuit with Newsom’s ham and béarnaise.

After that came the buckwheat pancakes with poached pear chutney, fresh ricotta and sea salt. We weren’t expecting to like this as much as we did, but the flavors were delicious individually and altogether; definitely one of our top picks on the menu.

By this point, you’re probably thinking you’ll never eat again. Until the caramelized Brussels sprouts with housemade pancetta and corn puree come out. And the golden potato and smoked brisket hash. Both are seriously indulgent—the brisket hash brings an unexpected (in a good way!) dash of spicy-sweet Southwest flavor.

In true Café Lurcat fashion, the meal isn’t complete without a plate of mini cinnamon sugar donuts. (Thankfully, they’re tiny, so you won’t feel too badly when you finish them all. Because you will.)

The verdict: An impressive addition to the Southwest Florida brunch scene—made even better because you get to try it all. Reserve online or by calling (239) 213-3357.

Those brussels sprouts look amazing! I will certainly have to take my bloody-Mary addicted better half here for some brunch!

They were some of the best Brussels sprouts I’ve ever had! I’m not a bloody mary fan myself, but I can vouch for the mimosas if that’s more your style. 😉
