As we near the end of the summer dining season in Southwest Florida, we’re taking advantage of all the great restaurant deals we can. One of our favorites still going on through the end of September: Bravo! Cucina Italiana‘s two-course dinner menu, which starts at $12.99. (A total steal.)
On a recent summer evening, Jesse and I stopped by for dinner to check out the new menu. It was the perfect kind of night to cozy up in a booth, split a bottle of wine and indulge in some serious classic Italian comfort food.
We started with a couple of appetizers: the Crispy Shrimp Napoli with green onions and charred tomato Napoli sauce (my favorite!) and the Ricotta + Ciabatta, with warm, housemade ricotta spread, marinated red peppers, sopressata and grilled ciabatta.
From the new two-course menu, I chose the Bravo! Chopped Salad with the Shrimp Scampi Pasta; Jesse opted for the Antipasti Salad and Pizza Bravo!, topped with spicy sopressata and peperoncinis, mozzarella and provolone, crushed red pepper and Parmesan, finished with fresh basil and a drizzle of lemon aioli.
Other options included Baked Chicken Parmesan, Linguine Carbonara and Grilled Chicken with Sun-dried Tomato Goat Cheese. Even with only two courses, there was no way we could finish everything, so we took lots of leftovers home. Two courses became two meals—an even better deal!
Afterward, we took advantage of the cooler late-summer evening to take a stroll around Mercato, people watch and grab a scoop of gelato from Le Macaron. In case you ever questioned why you loved living in Naples year-round? Evenings like this are it.
