Living in Southwest Florida sometimes feels like a vacation in itself, but luckily, when the urge to get away strikes, there are plenty of great spots within driving distance that offer a complete change of pace. Last weekend, we headed two hours north to Streamsong Resort, a golf resort unlike any you’ve ever seen in Florida.
Its ultra-modern architecture contrasts with rolling dunes, countless lakes and two—soon to be three—links-style golf courses. The buildings are decidedly industrial, with exposed concrete elements throughout, a nod to the property’s history as a former phosphate mine. (Suddenly the dunes make sense.)
Even if you don’t golf, there’s plenty to do here—three restaurants, a rooftop bar, guided bass fishing, archery, clay shooting and an amaaazing spa (designed like a European grotto with several different plunge pools, all kept at varying temperatures).
We spent a lot of time at the pool, sipping Coronas in our cabana and breaking in this new J.Crew bikini (top and bottom). I fell in love with the retro silhouette and the under-the-sea print. Links to shop everything can be found at the bottom of this post.
This lightweight cardigan from J.Crew does double duty as one of my favorite swim coverups. It’s so easy to slip into when hanging in the shade after a dip in the pool!
In total vacation mode the whole weekend. #zzzz
A fun little surprise parked outside Restaurant 59, our Sunday morning breakfast spot overlooking the golf course.
