Lifestyle: 5 Things to Try in June
{via}

1   Watermelon, blackberry and mint salad
Summer in Southwest Florida means barbecues, beach days and pool time. Even if you’re none too savvy in the kitchen, you can throw together this “salad” in no time with just four ingredients. The presentation is as pretty as it is refreshing—and always welcome on a warm day.

2   Skimm Ahead app
I start every morning with theSkimm, an emailed newsletter that breaks down the latest headlines and current events in a one-stop, easy-to-read format. (If you’re not, you’re doing it wrong. Sign up for free here.) Recently, the girls behind theSkimm launched Skimm Ahead, an ingenious app that automatically integrates all the very important upcoming things you didn’t know you needed to know yet—like when Taylor Swift tickets go on sale or what time the State of the Union is on—with your iPhone calendar. It’s like having a personal assistant who’s always one step ahead of you.

3   Friends of the Foundation
You’ve likely heard of the Naples Winter Wine Festival, Naples Children & Education Foundation’s annual event where wine flows and bidding paddles fly—all to raise more than $146 million for local children’s charities since 2001. The Friends of the Foundation is a group of next-generation supporters of NCEF who host their own gatherings and events in support of the cause. Become a Friend Committee Member for just $150 annually, which includes free and reduced admission to their various get-togethers. (Their Grape Celebration is this Friday, and tickets are still available.)

4   MidTown Kitchen + Bar
Love HobNob? Check out MidTown Kitchen + Bar, a new addition to the Naples dining scene, from the same owners. Scheduled to open June 3, MidTown occupies the former TGI Friday’s space at 41 and Golden Gate. It’s got a casual, neighborhood restaurant vibe with a large bar area and healthy, small-plate menu options.

5   Herbivore skincare
During the sticky summer months, the last thing we want to do is slather on heavy lotions and creams. Enter Herbivore, a minimalist skincare line that utilizes pure active plant ingredients for a light, refreshing take on summer skincare. (Plus, the packaging looks great on your bathroom counter. Bonus!) We can’t wait to try the whole line (see more below), but our standout favorites so far are the Rose Hibiscus Coconut Water Hydrating Face Mist and the Brighten Pineapple Enzyme + Gemstone Instant Glow Mask.
